I had worked with the parish office staff as treasure of Home and School when my girls attended school at St. Charles. When my boys started school I was looking for a part time job. I had been out of the work place for a number of years just working for my husband. I called Shirley to see if she would be a reference for me. Shirley new my back ground and later called to see if I‘d be interested in helping do paperwork for the Youth Ministry a few hours a week. I started a few hours in Youth Ministry and helping out in the parish office when needed. While working in the parish office Fr. Ken asked if I’d be interested in handling the wedding paperwork. For the next three years I worked in Youth Ministry and coordinating the wedding paperwork. And when the Administrative Assistant position opened up in the parish office it seemed like a better use of my skills and abilities, plus it made doing the wedding paperwork easier. I love being able to help people in the parish office and help wedding couples get all their paperwork ready. I would love to get a few more FOCCUS couples to help with the growing number of weddings at St. Charles.
I have a lot of managerial retail and customer service experience. After college I worked in business accounting and then in a CPA firm before having kids. I was able to say home with our girls, eventually doing books for my husband’s company until our twin boys were born in 2007.
My mother thought being confirmed was a decision we needed to make as an adult. After being married here at St. Charles I went through the RCIA program and was confirmed. I continue to grow in my faith through my kids and my work here at St. Charles. I loved watching the kids in the youth program grow in their journey to be confirmed, but I am getting even more out of helping teach the religious ed. I feel it was the work of Holy Spirit that lead me to call Shirley and end up working here at St. Charles.
